Variant Brewing Company

Who They Are

Like most great craft breweries, Variant Brewing Company began as a hobby in someone’s garage. Years later, brew master Matt Curling opened the doors of Variant Brewing Company in his hometown of Roswell.

It’s family affair at Variant. Matt’s wife Lauren is currently managing operations on site. And although the team at Variant is fairly new to the brewing scene, they’ve created a beautiful space to grab a quality beer with quality people.

Variant offers a variety of year round beer options including:

Their hope was to craft excellent, clean, and consistent craft beers in a broad variety of flavors and styles. One visit to Cahaba will show you that they’re doing all of that and more!

What They Offer

Cahaba offers a variety of year round beer options including:

  • American Blonde Ale

  • Ryezome
  • Fraxinus Maximus

Why They’re Doing It Right

One of the best things about Cahaba Brewing Company is the tasting room. They’ve created a great space for guests to tour their facility and try a few brews along the way. The best part about the tasting room is that it gives visitors the opportunity to sample unique small batches and experimental beers that aren’t available anywhere else.

While you’re drinking, you can take a look at the production facility to see how it all goes down behind the scenes. Or, pull up a seat on the covered patio—it’s a great spot to hang out and try some new brews in historic Birmingham!

Abbey of the Holy Goats Brewery
Roswell, Georgia

Who They Are

There’s not a better backstory than the one of Abbey of the Holy Goats. After almost joining a nunnery in Nova Scotia, owner Kathy Davis changed courses and became the first brewery owner in Georgia when she opened Abbey of the Holy Goats in Roswell.

Her focus is on crafting innovative Belgian-style beers designed for food pairing. The team is devoted to providing every visitor with a gratifying, great tasting beer in a uniquely traditional environment.

What They Offer

Abbey of the Holy Goats offers a variety of year round beer options including:

  • Goats in the Garden
  • Goats of the First Order
  • The Lazy Goat
  • The Goat’s Obsession

Why They’re Doing It Right

This small craft brewery in Roswell is like a trip to another country. The tasting room features a huge, handmade 26-foot community table where people can gather to eat, drink, and connect while surrounded by stained glass artwork and stone fireplaces.

Whoever said beer didn’t belong in the abbey was surely mistaken. Because the combination here creates the perfect environment for both!
